Great Acts Are Made Of Small Deeds

At the bottom right-hand of my website, I have a daily quote section. And anyone familiar with my writing knows that I love quotes.

I love the idea that you can take such powerful ideas and package them into neatly wrapped little gifts.

Having such wisdom and perspective boiled down for us is something special. That’s why I make sure to remind myself daily.

And today’s quote is:

Great acts are made up of small deeds.”

—Lao Tzu

While not the most profound, it certainly makes sense. It’s a reminder that greatness takes time.

Whether it’s building a blog, climbing some competitive ladder, or accomplishing a great feat.

Your eventual success is happening one day at a time. It’s made up of millions of small actions and decisions that will hopefully accumulate into something great. Or they won’t.

The choice is yours. It all starts with taking life one moment at a time.

Persistence and patience leads to progress.

We are what we repeatedly do. Greatness then is not an act, but a habit”

 ―Aristotle

Thanks for reading!

Have a wonderful day and let’s do some great things!

  1. It’s so easy to forget those small steps add up to a great journey when we look back in two, five, ten, years. But if we turn around in day 1 we can psyche ourselves out because we want to be at the finish line. Our we can get bogged down by looking at the big picture and spend all our time thinking. When really, at times zooming in to focus on achievable chunks, those “small deeds” as Lao Tzu says, that will help us take action.

Thank you for sharing these quotes and this encouragement. 😊
